Lesson #1
The only way to become a better putter is to practice. Aimswell makes teaching and learning aim easier and fun. The desire and will to practice becomes stronger when practice is easier to do and is fun.
Lesson #2
Aiming Well: One of the most basic fundamentals of golf is aim. It is important to confirm your aim with consistent practice will provide a solid foundation for a good putting stroke. Important to take the time and remember to aim well. Very basic and often overlooked, ingraining aim during practice leads to better performance on the course.
Lesson #3
Repetitive Motion Creates Reliable Muscle Memory: The 532 drill: 5 – 2′ putts, 3 – 3′ putts, and 2 – 5′ putts and repeat. A simple, relaxing, and easy drill that will generate earned confidence to help make the putts that matter most on a score card. The process of aiming, putting, resetting the target, resetting your aim, and repeating without having to bend over or chase after the golf ball simplifies practice. Try different lengths, create your own drill, but remember the short ones are the ones that really make a difference when trying to lower your score. Repeat!
Lesson #4
Visualization Station: The Aimswell gives you a new way to visualize and see the cup. Using the different sizes of targets will help you develop touch, feel, and aim. Each target size is within the make zone of the regulation sized hole area. Dial in your aim by hitting a certain area of the target. Learn to hit the target with just enough energy to knock it over. Use the Aimswell to refine your feel and touch while visualizing a new perspective of the size of a golf hole. During a round visualize a target where you want to putt the ball to and aim well.
Lesson #5
Targeting Imagination: Knocking down a target is satisfying fun. If you can make practice fun you will be more apt to practice. Use the Aimswell and your imagination to create a personalized fun way to practice. Create games and different uses that make practice and aim focus fun. Examples: Golf croquet, tee box chipping contests, make up a lengthy course on a putting green…. Practice doesn’t have to be tedious or boring if you find ways to make it fun!
Lesson #6
Anywhere & Anytime: The Aimswell is portable and will fit well in your golf bag, but you should not limit your practice to a putting green. Find a place that suits you and will be convenient for encouraging regular use. Here are some places that work well for anytime & anywhere use: the office, next to the television (a perfect time to hit some putts is during commercials), the basement or recreation room, enhance your simulator and hit putts while waiting your turn…. Find a happy place where you can relax and hit some convenient putts each day. If you can commit to 5 minutes a day, you can keep the 3 putts away.
Lesson #7
Alignment & Breaks: Use the front edge of the catch base as a visual alignment tool to square your putter to the target. Use the red arrow on the hole plate to learn how a break on the green works. Set a ball 5’ away and read the green for a break, turn the Aimswell to align the arrow to the break of the green. This is a great visual tool for seeing and understanding how a break on a green will work. Aiming well to factor in breaking putts and better visualization for how and where to aim will make those tricky sliding putts much easier.
Lesson #8
Rewards and Relaxation: When using the Aimswelll and practicing putting you can and should be relaxed. You are able to see the rewarding results of knocking over a target. You can tap the reset handle with your putter. The ease of use and the satisfying feedback eases tension and will help create a sound, smooth, relaxed putting stroke. Tense, grinding, forced, complex, angry putting is not allowed. Find that happy place with your Aimswell and enjoy the rewarding response from knocking down targets and improving your game. Remember: soft hands.
Lesson #9
Target Practice: Make the Aimswell the driving range for your putter. Hitting wedges and putts are way more important than busting driver after driver. Going to the range to improve your aim and develop touch with your putter is just as important as going to the range to work your golf swing. Take the time to practice well, aim well and have fun!
Lesson #10
Good Medicine: When you are ill and not doing well a curative or medicine is highly recommended. The same advice holds true with your putting stroke. Aimswell is a putting curative and should be used to cure a putting stroke that ails you. Taking as a preventative supplement is also highly recommended! The only way to get better is good medicine (practice) and a strong will to get better.
